Undergraduate Coordinator, Institute for AI Lecturer, Institute for AI Kimberly Van Orman, Ph.D., is a Lecturer and Undergraduate Coordinator at the Institute for Artificial Intelligence. A philosopher by training, her work bridges the gap between the humanities and technical sciences, with a particular focus on the philosophy of mind, cognition, and AI ethics. Education: Before joining UGA, she served as an instructional consultant with the Institute for Teaching, Learning & Academic Leadership at the University at Albany and held faculty roles at Bennington College, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Siena College, and Johns Hopkins CTY. She earned her Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Albany, where she specialized in the study of consciousness at the intersection of the philosophy of mind & philosophy of science.
