Professor, School of Computing Dr. John Miller is a Full Professor in the School of Computing at the University of Georgia, where he has served since 1986. He earned his Ph.D. in Information and Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his undergraduate degree in Engineering Science and Applied Mathematics from Northwestern University. Dr. Miller’s research spans modeling and simulation, database and distributed systems, web services and workflow management, big data analytics, and bioinformatics. His scholarly work integrates computational intelligence with emerging technologies, including deep learning, foundation models, and time series forecasting. He has also contributed extensively to the areas of semantic web processes, bioinformatics, and health informatics.
