Bill Hollingsworth focuses on computing education and innovative pedagogy. He received the University of Georgia’s 2021 Creative Teaching Award, which recognizes faculty who develop and implement creative methods that improve student learning. His selection highlighted the development of Grafstate, an online learning program that has helped transform courses such as Theory of Computation.

Hollingsworth’s research area is computing education, and he holds a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge (2008). His work emphasizes student success through thoughtfully designed digital platforms and course innovations.
