Double Dawgs Dual Degree Program

The Institute for Artificial Intelligence participates in two combined undergraduate/graduate programs

In the programs, students are allowed to use up to 12 graduate credit hours towards both degrees. In both cases, the two degrees are intended to be completed within 5 years. Only courses from an approved list may be applied toward both degrees.

Application Process

Students wishing to pursue the dual degrees must first submit an application to be admitted to the program pathway. To be considered for admission, students must meet the following requirements:

  • at least 60 hours completed at the time of application;
  • at least 40 hours completed at UGA;
  • have an overall undergraduate GPA of 3.5.

Admission into a pathway requires a review of the applicant's UGA transcript by a committee. In exceptional circumstances, the committee may choose to admit students not meeting all of the requirements or reject applicants due to inadequate performance in courses related to the graduate degree.

Acceptance into the pathway does not guarantee acceptance into the graduate program. For that, a separate application to the Graduate School is needed. It is recommended that students apply to the pathway in the spring semester of their third year and to the graduate program in their fourth year.

To apply to a program pathway, students should go to the below site and select the appropriate program.

Deadlines

  • April 17: Deadline for application to program pathway and to graduate program for students wishing to start in the Fall Semester.
  • October 20: Deadline for application to program pathway and to graduate program for students wishing to start in the Spring Semester.

Program Contacts

Students interested in pursuing either of the Double Dawgs programs should contact the designated program representative.
